Farewell to Tooting!

Hello!

An afternoon with Frank!

We spent our last week in Tooting fairly quietly, which is pretty much in our wheelhouse!

I enjoyed my last few early morning walks to the commons with Cornelius!  He is a marvelous bundle of energy.  He is pretty spent when we get back and spends a good deal of the morning lying at my feet keeping me company!

In keeping with our “routines”, Munchie cooks, I eat!  All is good!  We took some time to get organized and ready for our re-location to Standlake.  This, of course, included my Munchie, baking, prepping, rolling, and pinching

(she promised Yasmin some perogies!)! She also whipped up another pot of her spicy red lentil soup! Munchie wanted to make sure that Lionel, Tullika and Gabe get back they have a meal ready for them!

We were able to get another chauffeured tour!  Dear Yasmin drove us out to Box Hill.  It was a “bank holiday” so the place was crawling with vehicles and people!

Yasmin also took us past a school she had attended in her youth!  What a grand old place!  It was called the Box Hill School when Yasmin attended, it is now called RGS Surrey Hills.  As it turns out, this may have been during a rebellious chapter in Yasmin’s early teen years and she may have had a trip or two to the head-master!  I’m sure it was all just a misunderstanding as Yasmin is such a wonderful person.  Even though she did let it slip she may have been a bit “naughty” back then!  Our tour of the area brought us by some wonderful homes in the Surrey area and a drive through Shere

(The gorgeous village where Iris's snowy cottage scenes and local pub (The White Horse) were set in the 2006 movie The Holiday)

We did stop in for fish & chips one more time at J.J. Moon's.  Another great meal!

We also took in another show, "Sinatra, the Musical”!

It was another tube/bus trip into Town.

The Aldwych Theatre for a matinee performance.  We both thoroughly enjoyed it!  The cast did a fantastic job telling the story of “ole Blue Eyes” career, including his personal life!  We both like his music and the lead did a great job!

One last item that I must share; for those of you who know my darling bride, you know she has always been quite....selective on her footwear! You would be hard pressed to see her in anything that did not sport a heel! Well, times are changing, Munchie found a pair of Adidas that she has fallen in love with! They fit perfectly and she states they are some of the most comfortable shoes she has worn in a long time! She wore these shoes to our afternoon at the theatre! She is following the trend in London!

I’ll post again next week once we get settled at Brian’s house!

Cheers to all!
